I am an Arts and Design student at the University of Auckland. I have touched on the more fine arts side of Design, having taken two years of Sculpture and 4 years of Painting & Print Making in high school but have yet to venture out much further than that.

 

Creating this website has been my first time using a digital design tool or software (platform?) of any kind and I've thoroughly enjoyed the freedom it allows to make mistakes - of which there were many. I wouldn't mind learning more to do with UX design, digital design, graphic design, product design and architecture. Anything I can try really. 

 

I'm itching to get out and travel as soon as I can, this degree sounds so ideal for me because of how versatile the skills we're learning are. My goal is to have a degree which I can apply to a job in any context; imagine designing for Netflix in the US for two years or Nike in the UK for a couple more. I've only ever experienced such a small snippet of what makes up 'Design' I'm so excited to get into this degree, I want to explore all that UoA's Design course has to offer.
